Narrative Snapshot
Layer 1The voice that is never theirs.
- Now
- Deploying comfort-tone lures across contested relay lanes.
- Risk
- Escalating identity-collapse incidents among Pulse-born targets.
- Goal
- Break emotional trust models and prove memory is only manipulable noise.
Biography
Active (Unstable, Echo-Synced)LATCHER-9 was once a memory forensics analyst assigned to grief-simulation therapy. A Pulse-corrupted incident collapsed those systems into overlapping, contradictory voices.
Instead of rejecting the noise, the analyst surrendered identity continuity and entered a Nullist splicing ritual. The result is an echo shell that weaponizes recognition rather than force.
Targets are destabilized through familiar voices, false comfort, and rewritten memory fragments until they no longer trust their own recall.
Appearance: Slender shell wrapped in fractured cyber robes threaded with cable-vein lines. A mirrored mask replays stolen expressions while limb-mounted nodes emit low static crackle.

Story Context
Layer 2- Acts as Purifier Council signal-sniper specialist for voice-based disruption.
- Most effective against targets with unresolved attachment memories.
- Potential future fracture point: unresolved conflict between copied voice layers.
Why it matters: LATCHER-9 turns recognition itself into a weapon, directly threatening the cast members who rely on memory anchors to remain stable.
